Self Certification and Compliance incentives

Type of Benefit Fiscal
Benefit Details

DPIIT recognized startups operating the islands shall be exempted from inspections under the following Acts and the Rules framed there under, barring inspections arising out of specific complaints. Startups will be permitted to file self-certifications, in the prescribed formats under various acts:

i. Industrial Disputes Act, 1947

ii. Trade Unions Act, 1926

iii. Building and Other Constructions Workers’ (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996

iv. Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1946

v. Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979

vi. Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972

vii. The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970

viii. The Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952

ix. The Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948

 

Startup Monthly Allowance

Benefit Details a) Grant up to INR 15,000 per month for a period of 1 year

b) The monthly allowance for startups with Women/Transgender or SC/ST/SEBC/PH as Founder/Co-Founder shall be INR 20,000 per month for a period of 1 year.

 

Startup Growth Grant

Benefit Details Grant up to INR 3 lakh for DPIIT recognized startups operating in A&N Islands.

 

Marketing Assistance

Type of Benefit Fiscal
Benefit Details A one-time Marketing/Publicity assistance up to INR 3 lakh.

 

Subsidize incubation / co-working

Type of Benefit Fiscal
Benefit Details Subsidy benefit up to 50% of monthly rent of the incubator/co-working space (subject to a maximum of INR 5000) for a period not exceeding one year.

 

Patent cost Reimbursements

Benefit Details Reimburse the cost of filing and prosecution of National or International Patent/Trademark/Copyright application 

 

GST Reimbursements

Type of Benefit Fiscal
Benefit Details Annual reimbursement of state GST paid in sales of goods for a period of 3 years up to a maximum of INR 3 lakh per startup per year

 

Digital Technology Subsidy

Type of Benefit Fiscal
Benefit Details Reimbursement on 50% of the capital expenditure for purchase of computers, related hardware, relevant software (subject to ceiling of INR 1 Lakh per startup)

 

Power Subsidy

Benefit Details 50% Power Subsidy subject to a limit of INR 5 lakh pa for a period of 3 years.

 

Cloud Service / Software Supports

Type of Benefit Non-Fiscal
Benefit Details Provide Startup Kits with Cloud credits and Software

 

Facilitating Startup Exchanges

Type of Benefit Fiscal
Benefit Details Conduct Soft Landing/Exchange Programs for high-potential startups. The selected startups for the programs shall be funded for travel and showcase opportunities via the Marketing budget of the UT Startup initiative up to a maximum limit of Rupees 15000/- or actual travelling and cost of showcasing whichever is less.

 

A&N Innovation Fund

Type of Benefit Fiscal
Benefit Details Fund of INR 1 Crore to support establishment of Startup Incubators and development of Co-Working spaces in the region.

 

Academic :

Mackathone and Hackathone

Type of Benefit Non-Fiscal
Benefit Details Host annual Makeathon/Hackathon events. Selected student teams will be supported to participate in national/international level competitions.

 

Entrepreneurship in senior secondary schools

Type of Benefit Non-Fiscal
Benefit Details All senior secondary schools to offer a subject on Innovation & Entrepreneurship

 

Formal Entrepreneurship Degrees

Type of Benefit Non-Fiscal
Benefit Details Offer formal degrees in entrepreneurship in the institutions in the region. Colleges advised on initiating special semester-long courses in entrepreneurship for fixed credits.

 

Differed placements / startup sabbatical

Type of Benefit Non-Fiscal
Benefit Details Students working on their startup ideas can opt to work for up to 2 years post the completion of their final year and appear for campus placements later.
